The position is for a laboratory technician who will work on processing samples for radiocarbon analysis by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). Duties will involve all aspects of sample preparation, including pretreatment chemistry, combustion, and the production of graphite for AMS measurement. This position is for 12 months only, beginning July 2002, to cover the absence on leave of a permanent staff member. A suitable person should have experience in radiocarbon sample preparation, preferably with a qualification in chemistry.
