Research themes include palaeoclimatology/ecology, oceanography, geochemistry, geomorphology and carbon cycling in soil systems. You will be responsible for developing and commissioning analytical equipment for the preparation of small samples for radiocarbon analysis on the JIF-funded AMS on site. This will require an aptitude for analytical work. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate ideas and discuss developments will be essential. Once the equipment has been sufficiently developed, you will be required to apply the methods to both routine and collaborative research. You will have a relevant PhD and preferably postdoctoral experience. Scientists with experience in some or all of the following would be preferred: analytical development work, vacuum techniques, quality control, dating method(s), and/or isotope ratio mass spectrometry, The post is available for a fixed term of 2 years.
