(4 for radiometric, 5 for AMS). This process had been slower than we had anticipated, and there are still some further delays due to the need for custom clearance in some countries. for radiometric laboratories we were only able to provide between 50 and 100g of material, thus we realise that the samples may be smaller than you have come to expect from VIRI, but as you can appreciate bone samples (in the quantities needed) are very rare. however the collagen yield is good and %carbon on combustion between 30 and 40%. if any lab feels that these samples are below the minimum size they would date, then we would much appreciate that they return them. best wishes Marian=================================================== === Professor Marian Scott marian@stats.gla.ac.uk Department of Statistics www.stats.gla.ac.uk/~marian University of Glasgow Phone: +44(0) 141 330 5125 Glasgow G12 8QW Fax: +44(0) 141 330 4814 ====================================================== =========================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send the command SIGNOFF C14-L to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.ARIZONA.EDU, or send a request to C14-L-request@LISTSERV.ARIZONA.EDU. ========================================================================= Date: Fri, 9 Dec 2005 10:09:20 +0000 Reply-To: orau@rlaha.ox.ac.uk Sender: Radiocarbon Mailing List From: Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit Organization: University of Oxford Subject: 19th International Radiocarbon Conference MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit [Sorry for any cross posting] This is just to remind you about the Radiocarbon Conference in Oxford 3rd-7th April 2006. Preparations for the conference are now well advanced. The keynote address will be given by Colin Renfrew and we have planned a series of review talks to be given by Martin Suter, Bernd Kromer and Konrad Hughen. All details of the conference can be found on the conference WWW site: http://www.rlaha.ox.ac.uk/c14/conference19/ The deadline for registration (payments to be made on-line) and abstract submission is 20th January 2006. We would be grateful if people, who have not already done so, can register and submit their abstracts in the next couple of weeks if this is possible as this will make planning easier. Best wishes Christopher Ramsey, Tom Higham, Diane Baker and Fiona Brock. =========================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send the command SIGNOFF C14-L to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.ARIZONA.EDU, or send a request to C14-L-request@LISTSERV.ARIZONA.EDU.
