The Center for Applied Isotope Studies (CAIS) at the University of Georgia invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist to direct the operations of the CAIS radiocarbon Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) facility. Responsibilities will primarily involve operation and maintenance of a 500 kV Pelletron AMS instrument for carbon isotope measurement, along with data reduction and analysis. Other responsibilities will include the transfer of AMS technology to campus-based personnel or regional institutions. The candidate should have a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in physics, and should have demonstrated research experience either in the technique of radiocarbon AMS or high-energy physics. A special interest in marine, ecological, or environmental sciences is also desirable. To assure full consideration applications must be received by November 2, 2007.
